From now until tonight at 9 p.m. central time, my newest product, "Modeling Chemical Equations" will be free in my Teachers Pay Teachers Store, saving you $4.50.
In this interactive lesson, students will use manipulatives (Snap Cubes, Legos, colored paper cut into squares, small candies, etc..) to demonstrate what happens during a chemical reaction, by building the parts of a chemical equation. This lesson reinforces the concepts of reactants, products, yields, atoms, compounds, molecules, subscripts, coefficients, and the law of conservation of mass.
It comes in both a PowerPoint and PDF document so that you can print the blank mats for students to build upon and project the activity mats (and answers) up on the screen for the entire class.
I hope you enjoy! Please leave me some positive feedback and enjoy the freebie! Click on any of the pictures below to be taken directly to the FREEBIE! And hurry....because at 9 p.m. Central Time, this Flash Freebie turns into a pumpkin!

ReplyDeleteBummer, so sad I missed it, but added it to my wishlist for now! We will get to that at the end of November with my 8th graders :)
ReplyDeleteHi Shayna!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog on Mrs. Harris's Science Teacher blog hop and am your newest follower. I am leading a science workshop for international school teachers this weekend and will be sharing your blog with them. Thanks for all the great resources!

I do an activity very much like this when I teach balancing equations, though your files are much prettier than mine! Thanks for sharing this. I can't wait to share this with my preservice teachers.
